Rangpur: District unit command of Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad (BMS) distributed Taka 48.96 lakh as grants from its own resources among 816 freedom fighters (FFs) of the district Sunday, reports BSS.
District Unit Commander of BMS Mosaddek Hossain Bablu distributed cheques of Taka 6,000 among each of the FFs from allover the district and Rangpur city at a function held at District Muktijoddha Complex (DMC) Bhaban here as the chief guest.
“Earlier, we also distributed Taka 22 lakh among the FFs of the district from earnings of the District Muktijoddha Complex,” said Bablu adding that the process would continue in future for ensuring welfare of the FFs.
Deputy Commanders of the district unit command of BMS Golam Mostafa, Matiar Rahman and Haji Md Atiar Rahman, Rangpur city unit Commander of BMS Sadrul Alam Dulu, FFs Habibur Rahman Sona, Md Obaidullah, Mahbubur Rahman, Abu Yusuf, Azadul Islam Khan, Jahangir Alam, among others, addressed the function.
