Speakers at a memorial meeting yesterday said eminent journalist and former Member of Parliament (MP) Mahfuja Khatun Baby Moudud fought till her death to establish the spirit of War of Liberation and to build a non-communal Bangladesh, reports BSS.
Baby Moudud had struggled throughout her life to establish democracy, the spirit of independence and to make a non-communal state, they said, addressing a commemorative meeting on Baby Moudud held at the auditorium of Jatiya Press Club (JPC) here.
Dhaka Union of Journalists (DUJ) organized the meeting to mark the third death anniversary of noted journalist and writer Baby Moudud.
PM’s Media Advisor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury addressed the meeting as chief guest while JPC General Secretary Farida Yeasmin, Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists (BFUJ) Secretary General Omar Faruque, BFUJ former Secretary General Abdul Jalil Bhuiyan, JPC Treasurer Kartik Chatterjee, and Women Sangbadik Kendra Chairperson Nasimun Ara Haq, among others, addressed it.
