Awami League has taken a plan to digitise all grassroots level organisational activities ahead of the next general elections, reports BSS.
According to a party source, currently around 90 percent activities at the grassroots level are going on in analog system.
Even the AL offices at district and upazila levels have no e-mail IDs. So, the decisions of the central committee are delaying to reach the grassroots level.
AL Publicity and Publication Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud told BSS that Bangladesh has transformed into a digital country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
As a result, Awami League has taken an initiative to make all party leaders and workers at the grassroots technology-oriented, he said, adding laptops have already been given to district level offices to perform organizational activities through the digital system. "Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's son and also her Information and Technology Affairs Advisor Sajib Wazed Joy gave the laptops as a gift to run organizational activities in the digital system," Hasan said.
AL central committee has already started holding training programmes for office, publicity and information and research secretaries of district and upazila levels, the source said.
In the training, they learn about e-mail, typing, publicity through social media and other related issues. AL Deputy Office Secretary Barrister Biplob Barua said mobile phone is the only way to communicate with all district and upazila level leaders.
