One held with 24 pieces of gold bars

Joypurhat: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested a young man in possession of 24 pieces of gold bars weighing 2,400 kg from Koya area at Panchbibi upazila yesterday morning, reports UNB. The arrestee was Abdur Rashid, 28, a resident of South Basudevpur village in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur district. Tipped off, a team of the border force conducted a drive in the area and arrested Rashid while he was crossing the area in a motorbike around 9:30 am, said commanding officer of BGB-3 additional director Nasir Imam Rummy. Later, the BGB members recovered 24 pieces of gold bars after searching his body.
