Coast Guard members seized 30 lakh shrimp fry and detained five people after raiding Katakhali in Hatiya of Noakhali early yesterday, reports UNB. According to Coast Guard headquarters sources, acting on a tip-off, an operational team from Coast Guard Station Hatiya under south zone conducted a raid at an engine-run boat on the Meghna River at Charchenga of Katakhali at about 3:00 am and recovered around 30 lakh shrimp fry worth around Tk60 lakh searching the boat and detained two boat men and three shrimp fry traders in this connection. They handed over the detained people along with the engine boat to fisheries officer of the district, while the seized shrimp fry were released into the river water in presence of the fisheries officers.
