Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) seized seven trucks loaded with 155 mts rice and arrested five people, including manager of a government rice godown, from Halishashar of the port city early yesterday, reports UNB from Chittagong. The arrestees were manager of LSB govt food godown Pronoy Chakma, 47, hamsul Huda, 48, Mizan, 22, Shafiul Alam, 27, and Osman, 45. Tipped off, a team of Rab-7 launched a drive in the area in the early hours of Tuesday and seized the seven trucks carrying 3096 sacks of rice while those were being smuggled from the godown, said Assistant police super Aminullah, also assistant director of Rab -7.
