Play due role for strengthening ties
President tells new enoys of Nepal, Indonesia

President Abdul Hamid yesterday urged the newly appointed Nepalese and Indonesian ambassadors to Bangladesh to play their due role in strengthening diplomatic ties with Bangladesh and their countries, and explore trade and investment potentials, reports UNB.
Bangladeshs existing bilateral relations between Nepal and Indonesia are excellent now, the President told the envoys as they separately presented their credentials to him at Bangabhaban in the afternoon. The two envoys are Dr Chop Lal Bhushal of Nepal and Rina Prithyasmiarsi Soemarno of Indonesia. Presidents Press Secretary Joynal Abedin briefed reporters after the presentation of credentials.
Welcoming the ambassadors, President Hamid assured them of providing all-out cooperation in discharging their duties in their new assignments in Bangladesh.
Referring to the moral support of Nepal and Indonesia during the 1971 Liberation War, especially Indonesias early recognition to Bangladesh in February 1972, the President expressed his deep gratitude to them. The envoys sought Presidents cooperation in discharging their duties and hope that the existing bilateral relations with Bangladesh will be enhanced further in the future.
Lauding the existing socioeconomic progress in Bangladesh, the ambassadors said their respective countries are keen to increase their relations with Bangladesh in the coming days.
Secretaries concerned to the President were present during the meetings.
On their arrival at Bangabhaban, the envoys were given guard of honour separately by a contingent of the President Guard Regiment (PGR).
