A teacher of Dhaka University, who filed a case against one of his colleagues under section 57 of the ICT Act over a Facebook post, has decided to withdraw the lawsuit, reports UNB.
Abul Mansur Ahmed, professor of Mass Communication and Journalism (MCJ) Department, on July 13, filed the case against associate professor of the same department Fahmidul Haq with Shahbagh Police Station under the section 57 of ICT Act.
Prof Mansur took the decision to drop the charge in an academic committee meeting of the department held on Sunday as Fahmidul Haq uploaded another post on Facebook apologizing for his previous post, said a press release signed by MCJ department chairman Prof M Mofizur Rahman yesterday.
Fahmidul Haq admitted his mistake in the new post mentioning that his previous post was incorrect, added the press release.
In the case statement, Abul Mansur Ahmed alleged that Fahmidul blamed Mansur for delaying publication of Masters-2016 result in a write-up posted in a university based Facebook closed group.
