Soumya keen to play Test against Aussies

Following the meteoric surge in one-day cricket, Bangladesh also started progressing in Test, the trend which has been commenced from the last Test series against the high-ranked England in October 2016.
Tigers therefore played three away series on the trot against New Zealand, India and Sri Lanka, wherein the way they demonstrated their skills that indicated them as reckoning force in Test.
Bangladesh fought a good fight throughout the five-day of the one-off Test against India after having at win-like situation against the Black Caps. Therefore, they thrashed Sri Lanka at their home.
This time they will play against the top-flight Australia at home turf with whom Bangladesh get rare chance to play. The home side meanwhile started their practice keeping this important series in mind.
Batsman Soumya Sarkar said that they are longing to play with Australia and seek to keep it memorable by winning Test against this top-notch side.
Normally we get chance to play less number of games in Test. Among Test playing nations we play lesser Test against Australia.
Since last few days we have been playing Test well. Last Test series we played better cricket against England, said Soumya Sarkar, who represented Bangladesh only in seven Tests after being debuted in 2015.
Its a big opportunity for us. They will come here to play Test with us. Were raring to play with them. Hopefully we could be overwhelmed Australia by playing our better brand of cricket, Soumya told newsmen yesterday after their conditioning camp.
As Test series, the Australia series will be my first Test series I want to keep it memorable. By my batting I will try to win the first Test against Australia at our home soil, he added.
The way he was performing in one-day and Twenty20, in that comparison, he could not create any impact in Test. He opens the proceeding in one-day and T20 but in Test he plays at lower-order. But he felt no squirm about this. The 24-year-old Soumya said that he is agreed to play at any position what the team management will recommend.
There is a difference between one-day and Test. I play in lower order in Test wherein I open the proceeding in shorter versions. May be the team management thought I am better in lower-order in longer version. But I have no problem, Satkhira-born lad said.
Even if I was told to play at top-order I will do that. Actually I am ready to play for the team whether it is lower or top order, he also said.
He was taken in the national team as a pace all-rounder. But he could not show any special performance with his cherry. Soumya takes it a challenge and said that whenever he will chance he will attempt to demonstrate his bowling capability.
Regularly Im now bowling practice in training session. Im yet to prove myself by bowling. Ill try to show something by my bowling when Ill get chance. And thats now my challenge, he told.
Its tough to do two things together. For this it is needed to be better fitness. But I have to do it as I am an all-rounder. When I do batting practice I get less times for bowling. Again, when I do bowling practice I get lesser time for batting. In this way, I do regular practice maintaining a balance, he explained.
The all-rounder said that he tries to sharpen his batting skills and techniques taking tips from Tamim Iqbal.
Ive many things to learn from him. I look to see his batting while he bats and think in mind if I was there how I handle the ball, he said, adding Tamim bhai is now matured enough. He could read the situation so quickly. I try to learn in and out of field from him. I watch the highlights of his batting now and then.
