A Bangladesh Chhatra League activist was gunned down in a factional clash at Beanibazar Govt College in Sylhet yesterday over establishing supremacy, reports UNB. The deceased, Khaled Ahmed alias Litu, son of Khalilur Rahman, was a resident of Khasa village. Chandan Kumar Chakrabortty, officer-in-charge of Beanibazar, said the clash ensued between two groups - Pavel Mahmud, leader of district BCL unit and Abul Kashem Pallab, former joint convener of upazila BCL unit - in the morning.
Both groups exchanged fire during the clash, said the OC.
Lichu, the activist of Pavel group, received bullet on his head and died on the spot, the OC added.
