Smart card distribution begins today in Khulna

KHULNA: The Election Commission will start the distribution of smart national identity cards in Khulna city today, reports BSS.

Election Commissioner Kabita Khanam is expected to inaugurate the distribution at a function as the chief guest at the conference room of Khulna deputy commissioner, said Ashiqur Rahman, communication officer of NID registration section, EC.

Election Commissioner Brg. General (Retd) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury, parliament members Begum Monnuzan Sufian and Mizanur Rahman Mizan, Mayor of Khulna City Moniruzzaman Mony, additional secretary of EC Md Mokhlesur Rahman, Khulna divisional commissioner Md Abdus Samad, Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner(KMP) Humayun Kabir are expected to attend the function.
