A businessman was shot and wounded by some miscreants in the city's Eskaton Road on Monday, reports UNB.
Quoting witnesses police said when Anwar Hossain, 55, general secretary of Bangladesh Medical Device Association, was going to his office at Bangla Motor from his Eskaton residence a gang of miscreants swooped on his car around 9:15 am.
They sprayed bullets on his car and fled the scene, leaving him injured.
He was rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. His condition was stated to be critical.
Contacted, Maruf Hossain Sarder, Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Ramna Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, told UNB that police have been investigating the incident.
He said primarily it seems to them that it was not an incident of mugging as the miscreants did not try to take away valuables from him.
