A court in Dhaka on Monday placed four suspected militants, who surrendered to members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) during an anti-militant drive in Ashulia on Sunday, on a four-day remand, reports UNB.
Senior Judicial Magistrate Fairuz Tasnim passed the order when Unu Mong, senior assistant police super of Rab-4 and also the investigation officer of the case, produced them before the court seeking a 10-day remand for each.
The four suspected militants--Mozammel Haq, Rashedun Nabi, Erfan Ul Haq and Mohammd Alamgir Hosain--were remanded in a case filed under the Anti-Terrorism Act on April 27 with Savar Police Station.
On April, 27, police arrested three suspected members of JMB along with explosive materials during an anti-militant drive at Rajphulbaria Bus Stand in Savar.
On Sunday, members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in an anti-militant raid on a hideout at Chakalgram-Chourapara in Ashulia , arrested the four suspected militants, aged between 20 and 22, following their surrendered to the elite force as they were asked to do so through a loudspeaker. Later they were shown arrested in the case filed with Savar Police Staiton on April 27.
