A court in Dhaka on Monday granted bail to national team cricketer Arafat Sunny in a dowry case filed by Nasrin Sultana, who claimed to be Sunny's wife, reports UNB.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jakir Hossain passed the order after Sunny surrendered before the court in the morning seeking bail, said his lawyer Jewel Ahmed.
Earlier on Sunday, the court framed charges against Sunny in a dowry case filed by Nasrin.
The court also issued arrest warrant as Sunny could not appear before the court as he has been suffering from Chikunguniya.
On April 5, the court granted ad-interim bail to the cricketer.
Nasrin Sultana filed the case against the cricketer and his mother with the court on charge of demanding Tk 20 lakh as dowry on January 23.
