Bangladesh and the Netherlands are planning to hold first-ever Foreign Office Consultation (FOC) between the two countries in the first week of October to take forward the relations to newer heights, said a Foreign Ministry official yesterday. “We’re trying to have our first-ever FOC in October,” the official said, adding that the both sides are working on fixing the date, reports BSS. Dutch Queen Máxima will visit Bangladesh in November this year. She is also the United Nations Secretary-General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development. “She is likely to be here on a four-day visit in the third week of November,” the official source said. The Queen will have meetings with President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and other stakeholders during her four-day visit. Foreign Secretary M Shahidul Haque will lead Bangladesh side while Dutch Foreign Secretary (they call Secretary General) Regina Veronica Maria Jones-Bos will lead the Dutch side in the FOC. Jones-Bos is likely to be here in the first week of October, according to Foreign Ministry sources.
