No headmasters in 55 schools
Education being hampered

Teaching at primary schools in Faridganj upazila of Chandpur district is being hampered badly as the headmaster posts of 55 schools have been lying vacant for long.
Senior Assistant teachers of these primary schools have been running these schools as acting headmasters.
Teachers said they are burdened with the headmasters official work along with taking classes, which hampers teaching, adding that the acting headmasters do not get any additional payment.
Some teachers of primary schools and guardians alleged that Dakshin Char Rampur Government Primary school in the area is running without headmaster for the last ten years.
Besides, there are some newly nationalised government primary schools in the upazila that have long been running without headmasters. As a result, quality education in all these schools is being hampered for a long time, alleged locals and guardians of the pupils.
When contacted, president of Dakshin Char Rampur Government Primary Schools managing committee, also the vice chairman of Faridganj Upazila Parishad Md Wahidur Rahman told this correspondent that a government primary school cannot run properly without its leader. He demanded the authorities appoint a headmaster to this school as soon as possible to ensure proper education.
Faridganj Upazila Education Officer Md Fariduddin Ahmed said, A few days ago, we sent a list of the vacant posts of headmasters to the higher authorities. We hope that these vacant posts would be fulfilled soon by the government which will help ensure quality education in primary level.
