Islamic Arabic University National Completion-2017 inaugurated

Islamic Arabic University National Completion-2017 was inaugurated on Wednesday aiming to practice of knowledge among madrasha students.

Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid inaugurated the completion at a function as the chief guest at Krishibid Institution of Bangladesh, an official release said. Islamic Arabic University is organising the completion.

Secretary of Secondary and Higher Education Md Sohrab Hossain and Secretary of Technical and Madrasha Education Md Alamgir, among others, addressed the function with Vice Chancellor of Prof Dr Muhammad Ahsan Ullah in the chair.

Nahid said quality of madrasha education has improved as the government has taken various initiatives in the past eight years.

“We have been made madrasah education time-befitting and modern incorporating science and IT to ensure better access of students to job markets,” he added.

Referring to different initiatives for the development of madrasha education, the minister said 35 model madrasha have been set up and honour course introduced at 51 madrasahs.

Memorial meeting held at EWU

A meeting on Nehreen Khan Memorial Speech programme was held on Wednesday at the East West University (EWU), Aftabnagar, Dhaka, says a press release.

Dr. Serajul Islam Choudhury spoke at meeting meeting.

This lecture was organised in the memory of former student of East West University, Nehreen Khan, late daughter of Dr Akbar Ali Khan, former adviser to a caretaker government of Bangladesh.

On this occasion, Professor Dr Serajul Islam Choudhury was honoured with a crest and a cheque amounting Tk one lakh.

Professor Dr M M Shahidul Hassan, Vice-chancellor, EWU presided over the programme. Dr Akbar Ali Khan, Dr. Fakhrul Alam, Professor of Dhaka University, A.Z.M. Shafiqul Alam, Treasurer of EWU, late Nehreen Khan’s classmates were also present in the programme.

Training on ‘Teaching-Planning, Learning-Assessment & Curriculum’ held at Gono Bishwabidyalay

A three-day-long training on “Teaching-Planning, Learning-Assessment & Curriculum” began at Gono Bishwabidyalay on Tuesday at the IQAC conference hall, says a press release.

Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the university organised the training programme for its faculty members.

Dr Zuraidah Mohd Zain, Assistant Vice-chancellor, University Malaysia Perlis, Malaysia, was present as resource person at the programme. The training workshop was attended by 47 faculty members from different departments of the university. In the first day, Dr Zuraidah Mohd Zain trained on Outcome-based Education (OBE), Mapping of PEO-PO-CO-Mission-Vision, Lesson Plan and Continuation of Lesson Plan.

Earlier at the inaugural session, Gono Bishwabidyalay’s Vice-chancellor (current) Prof Doctor Laila Parveen Banu was present as chief guest while special guests were Registrar Md Delower Hossain and Controller of Exam Mir Murtoza Ali. Md. Mostafizer Rahman, head of Microbiology and IQAC Director of Gono Bishwabidyalay presided over the programme.
