As part of Bangladesh’s plan to reach a US$ 50-billion export target by 2021, a three-day fair titled ‘Bangladesh Apparel & Safety Expo, Chittagong
2015’ begins in the port city today, UNB reports from Chittagong.
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed is scheduled to inaugurate the exposition to be held at Radisson Blu Chittagong Bay View. Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain, MEP Chair of the Trade Monitoring Group of South Asia Sahjjad Karim, European Union Ambassador in Dhaka Pierre Mayaudon, US Ambassador Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat, Canadian High Commissioner Benoit-Pierre Laramee, Chittagong City Corporation May AJM Nasir Uddin will also attend the inaugural session.
President of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) M Atiqul Islam and BGMEA first vice president Nasiruddin Ahmed Chowdhury will also be present.
