2 held with 30,000 yaba tablets

At least 30000 pieces yaba tablets worth about Tk 1,500,0000 were seized from a trucks and arrested two men in Mogorkhal area of Gazipur on Wednesday afternoon.

The arrested were identified as Mohammed Tozim Uddin, 45, of Vinnahali area in Tangail and Mohammed Somun Ali, 32, of Gobindapur village under Rajpara police station in Rajshahi.

Additional police super and also the camp commander of RAB-1, Purabari camp of Gazipur Mohammed Mohiul Islam said the arrested two men among a driver were carrying a big consignment of yaba tablets in their truck (Dhaka Metro-Ta-18-4862) from Cox’s Bazar to Rajshahi. On secret information, a team of RAB-1 seized the truck while it reached Mogorkhal at around 5 pm on Wednesday.

The RAB members seized 2,000 yaba tablets from the possession of Tozim Uddin and 2,000 yaba tablets from the possession of Somun Ali.

Later, according to their statement, the RAB members also seized 26,000 pieces of yaba tablets from a secret compartment under the driver’s seat. They also seized three mobile phone sets and Tk 15,300 from the truck.
