Intl Rating Chess begins today

Saif Powertec International Rating Chess will begin from today at the hall room of the Bangladesh Chess Federation (BCF) and at the National Sports Council (NSC) Tower auditorium lounge. More than 200 players will take part in the competition.
The tournament will take place in two categories while the rating holders above 2000 will play in the Category A and below 2000 will play in the B category. The competition of the A category will be held at the hall room of the BCF while the B category players will play at the NSC Tower Auditorium Lounge from at 3pm.
With the participation of four Grand Masters from home and one from India, international masters and rating holder chess players, the competition is organized by the BCF while Saif Powertec remained as sponsors for the second successive time with the tournament.
The prize money of the second edition of the tournament will be Taka five lakhs with the champions of the category A will receive Taka one lakh, runner-up will be rewarded with Taka 75,000 and the third positioned will have Taka 50,000 while the category B champions will get Taka 40,000, second positioned Taka 25,000 and the third placed Taka 15,000.
Syed Shahab Uddin Shamim general secretary of BCF stated all in a press conference yesterday. The general secretary of the Chess Federation informed that three Grand Masters of home - Ziaur Rahman, Abdullah Al Raquib and Enamul Haque Rajib and a Grand master from India also confirmed their participation.
