Leo Messi and Luis Suarez are now in Barcelona. The two Barça stars, accompanied by their respective families, have returned to the Catalan city after enjoying a deserved break. The two families arrived back in Spain on a private plane from the Caribbean, where they had spent the last few days, reports Sports English.
Messi and Suarez have spent some time together in Antigua and Barbuda, where the Argentine star, his wife Antonela Roccuzzo and his two sons Thiago and Mateo had been enjoying their honeymoon after Leo and Antonela wed in Rosario on June 30.
Argentine international Messi, who played in a game for his country, does not have to return to training until July 14 -- and he travels to Japan this week as a club representative before joining up with his team-mates on Friday.
Suarez, who did not play for Uruguay in the summer, is due at the Ciudad Deportiva de Sant Joan Despí on Wednesday to begin work under new Barca coach Ernesto Valverde.
Meanwhile, the Argentine superstar is worried that Valverde is incapable of drawing top talent to Catalonia., according to Spanish news outlet Diario Gol.
Valverde has replaced Luis Enrique who decided to quit at the end of last season.
The 53-year-old chief had an impressive stint managing Athletic Bilbao in his second spell at the club.
He’s also managed Valencia, Espanyol and Villarreal in La Liga as well as Greek champions Olympiakos.
But Diario Gol suggest Messi is questioning his boss’ skills in the transfer market.
The Catalans have only managed to snap up Gerard Deulofeu from Everton for around £10m so far.
Five right-backs Barcelona are considering as alternatives to Hector Bellerin
Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin and Paris St-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti have been touted as targets.
But so far the La Liga giants have been unable to snare either player.
Messi penned a lucrative new contract that will run until 2021 last week.
