Wicketkeeper-batsman Nurul Hasan Sohan is yet to consolidate his place in Bangladesh national team though he already represents the country in all the three formats of games.

He is thought to be substitute of regular wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim especially in shorter format. And so, when Mushfiq is sidelined with injury or any cause he was included in place of him. In that sense, he is irregular in the national fold.

Last time he played all three formats of games on the stroke of New Zealand series though he was a part with Tigers’ ICC Champions Trophy 2017 campaign squad but could not play any match there in the showpiece event.

For this he feels no regret. But he said that he is happy to learn when he gets chance to play for the side or share the dressing room with the team.

“I think the biggest thing is to get chance what does not always come. But I always attempt to cover my lacking what I have so that I could hundred percent fit and capitalize the chance when it comes,” said Nurul Hasan, who recently tied his knot with his university beloved.

“I can learn a lot when I stay with the national team whether it is from the dressing room, team management or the practice session. By learning from these places I try to make progress what I have lacking,” Sohan told media after their fitness training at the Lounge of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium yesterday.

He always keeps him ready to grab the opportunity that could knock at his doors at any time. And so, he is mindful more ahead of the forthcoming back-to-back home and away series against the top-notch Australia and South Africa.

“The conditioning camp has been starting for the three days. We will get two-three more weeks. Along with others, I will try my best to make me hundred percent fit what I have lacking,” the 23-year-old all-rounder said.

The right-hander said that he has been working on batting besides his wicket-keeping stint in the ongoing camp.

“As of now the fitness camp is going on, I will work on my batting in the gap of time. I will try to amend my lacking what I have in batting. Along with that, I will also work on my wicket-keeping so that I could do well more in future,” he opined.

Comparatively he plays less number of matches in international cricket even though he is a regular performer in domestic cricket. But he thinks that the key thing is to mentally prepare for the games whatever it is domestic or international cricket.

“If you understand the games, it would then be easier games in domestic and international stage. Even when you think having prepared mentally then it becomes easier to recover the tough times,” Khulna-born Sohan signed off.
