BRAC is continuing its awareness campaign as the spread of Chikungunya has mounted the sufferings of people alongside raising their concern across the country, reports UNB.
Alongside the government initiatives to combat Chikungunya, non-government organisations have also undertaken measures to control the diseases, said a BRAC press release on Wednesday.
Non-governmental development organisation BRAC has continued its awareness campaign since May, it said.
In accordance to the recent experiences and available information, BRAC has disseminated information on symptoms, prevention and treatment of the disease and circulated the messages among 1 lakh employees and their families through distribution of leaflets.
This leaflet is also being distributed among the students and guardians of 45,498 BRAC schools around the country.
Social media platforms are also being used to spread the message. The warning message which was posted on BRAC's official Facebook page on July 17 has already reached thousands of Facebook users.
In addition to this, preventive measures are being strengthened in all BRAC offices across the country.
In order to make the initiative more effective, BRAC has also started collecting data on Chikungunya infected patients across all the districts.
