A delegation of Chittagong Stock Exchange recently visited China and met with the officials of China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX) and Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) separately in Shanghai.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) Managing Director M Shaifur Rahman Mazumdar and Director Emdadul Islam held a meeting with Zhang Shenfeng, chairman of China Financial Futures Exchange (CFFEX), and Dr Zhang Peng, director of International Business Department, a press statement said.
They discussed bilateral issues and mutual co-operations between CSE and Chinese exchanges. The delegation offered both CFFEX and SSE for Strategic Investment in Chittagong Stock Exchange as per regulatory requirement of Bangladesh.
The chairman of CFFEX had shown interest to know existing features and potentials of Bangladesh Capital Market. CFFEX had also shown their interest to evaluate the proposal of CSE regarding strategic investment.
They also discussed about faster growth rate of Bangladesh Economy, its GDP, overall development and also the untapped opportunities in Bangladesh capital market.
The president of Shanghai Stock Exchange (SSE) informed the CSE team to raise strategic investment proposal in their Board, the statement added.
