Prof Dr MA Mazed, a former caretaker government adviser and ex-principal of Dhaka Medical College and dean of Dhaka University's medicine faculty, passed away on Saturday. He was 86, reports UNB.
Mazed, also the three-time elected president of Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA), breathed his last around 1:10pm at Labaid Hospital in the capital.
Mzaed, a noted ENT specialist, had long been suffering from various old-age complications.

In a condolence message, she said as a skilled and talented doctor, Prof Mazed kept outstanding contributions to developing the country's healthcare sector.
She said the new generation will follow him as a good and experienced teacher of medical education.
“Apart from his professional duties, Prof Mazed played the role of a vocal guardian in establishing people's rights during the bad time," the BNP chief observed.
She also recalled his role as a professional leader in the anti-Ershad movement in the 90s for the restoration of democracy.
Khaleda preyed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed her deep sympathy to the bereaved family members.
