Stocks ended the week yesterday upward with rising trend of all major price indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges on higher transactions, reports BSS.
The trade value at DSE increased to Tk 1005.46 crore from the last week Tk 801.19 crore while the trade volume also rose to 31.75 crore from 24.40 crore shares of the last Thursday.
DSEX closed at 5749.66 with adding nearly 93.61 points over the week. Accordingly, the blue-chip DS30 ended over 19.77 points up at 2103.57 and the Shariah DSES about 10.23 points higher at 1306.97.
Out of the 333 traded securities, 240 closed higher against 76 losing issues when 17 remained unchanged.
During the week, the top five gainers were Fu Wang Food, Rupali Bank, ILFSL, NHFIL and Fareast Finance.
The five major losing companies included Beach Hatchery, SP Ceramics, Standard Insurance, BD Welding and BD Com. The top five turnover leaders were Lanka Bangla Finance, Regent Textile, Baraka power, Fu Wang Food and Keya Cosmetics.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the week up, with its major CASPI index ending 302.68 points higher at 17,819.39.
Like DSE, most of the issues traded here closed higher when both the trade value and volume of shares increased significantly.
