More youths should come to freelancing, outsourcing

RAJSHAHI: Speakers at a discussion here urged the youths to engage themselves in more and more freelancing and outsourcing activities for their self-employment besides earning foreign currencies, reports BSS.

They also called upon them to develop their skill and efficiency in this regard as there is no alternative to quality product and nice presentation to attract buyers.

Any person would be able to earn foreign currency by getting training on online outsourcing issues as many trained youths are earning handsome amount from the outsourcing sector.

They made these observations while opening a freelancer mentoring centre at Alupatty area under Boalia Police Station in the city on Wednesday.

Learning and Earning Development Project (LEDP) under the Information and Communication Technology Division launched the centre in order to monitor the post-training outsourcing activities of freelancers for next three months.

“Self-employment through Freelancing” was the main theme of the discussion.

“We have imparted training to some 220 youths on graphics design, digital marketing and web design and development in eleven batches aiming to earn money from online outsourcing,” said Mahbub Ara Nila, District Course Coordinator of LEDP, while giving an overview of the project activities.

She adds many of those are now at earning stage. Under the basic training, participants were given training on different online outsourcing issues including international market place and payment method.

Participants were also trained on search engine optimisation (SEO) and blogs and article writings, graphics and multimedia and web development.

The project intends to make the educated but unemployed youths income-generators through transforming them into competent in freelancing and outsourcing.

Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Sabet Ali addressed the discussion as chief guest with LEDP's Graphics Design Trainer Partha Kundu in the chair.

Freelancers Atiya Sultana, Abdur Rouf and Zinnat Ara Meem also spoke stressing the need for enhancing internet speed and reduction of its price for the sake of making the outsourcing more attractive and profitable.

More other youth forces should come forward towards attaining IT knowledge to earn money from online outsourcing for becoming themselves as competent workforce.

The government is extending all-out supports to impart IT literacy to students so that they can earn foreign currencies through freelancing.

Terming the freelancing as an extremely prospective sector worldwide and now it is getting popularity in our country they mentioned that the youths should come forward to avail the opportunity.

Freelance jobs in software development, customer service, data entry, writing, editing, blogging, accounting, mobile apps development, web development, search engine optimisation, graphic design and translations are all there for the taking.

More than 100 persons comprising IT experts and freelancers joined the programme.
