Charge-sheet against nine for plundering Tk 38 lakh submitted

The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved a chargesheet for submission against nine people, including seven land officials, in a graft case.
The Commission at its regular meeting on Thursday approved a proposal for submitting the charge-sheet against them, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
The chargesheet will be submitted before the court soon against land surveyors of Dhakas Deputy Commissioners Office Mujibur Rahman, Abu Jafar, Afzol Hossain, Md Moniruzzaman, Nayeem Ahmed, Abul Kalam Azad, and Kanongo Shahidul Islam, and lawyers of Dhaka Bar Association Moghal Mollah and Abdul Baten Mollah. On August 24, 2016, the ACC filed a case against them with Dhaka Kotwali Police Station for allegedly plundering government money to the tune of Tk 38 lakh.
Another report adds: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Thursday arrested two graft suspects, including an assistant upazila education officer, in Feni and Chittagong in separate graft cases. ACC assistant director Syed Nazrul Islam of Rangamati zila office arrested then assistant upazila education officer (Borkal) Suman Deb in Feni Sadar, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
Earlier in the day, the ACC filed a case against Suman Deb, now assistant upazila education officer in Parshuram upazila of Feni, with Rangamati Sadar Police Station for allegedly taking bribe from several people assuring them of giving jobs.
Besides, ACC deputy assistant director Abdul Awal of its Chittagong office arrested deed writer Pranab Aych from Chittagong in a Tk 11 lakh swindling case filed against him with Hathazari Police Station on Thursday.
