Girl ‘raped’ at Banani again

Four months into the sensational Banani rape allegation against Apan Jewellers owner’s son Safat, another case has been filed yesterday against a businessperson over an alleged rape in the

same area.

The victim, 21, field a rape case against one Bahauddin Ivan, primarily identified as a businessperson aged 28, with the Banani Police Station around 1:30pm.

In the case document, the victim claimed she came to know Ivan on Facebook four months ago. “Ivan invited her to a birthday party in his Nam Village flat on Banani Road No. 2 on Tuesday. When the girl went to the house on Tuesday evening, she found it deserted.

Later she was kept confined into that flat until 3am and was raped,” according to the case document.  She also claimed Ivan took away her cell phone and Tk 15,000 in cash and forced her out of the flat around 3am yesterday.  The girl was being kept at the victim support centre, according to a police official.
