RANGPUR: State Minister for Social Welfare Nuruzzaman Ahmed has said there would not be poverty as well as any single citizen without house in the country within the next five years, reports BSS.
“The government has been providing houses to homeless citizens along with necessary training and assistance to make them self-reliant for building a developed Sonar Bangla as dreamt by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman,” he said.
Nuruzzaman said this at an Eid Reunion discussion held on Rudreshwar Dakhil Madrasah ground after visiting newly constructed embankment at Kuthirpar on the Teesta riverbank under Aditmari upazila in Lalmonirhat on Tuesday as the chief guest.
The State Minister said, “Permanent flood control embankments will be built soon to save the vast areas, houses and properties by the side of the mighty Teesta so that not a single family looses house and properties anymore in future.” “The government has established community clinics for reaching health services with medicines to the people’s doorsteps free of costs and taken steps to further improve standard of services in these clinics to build a healthier nation,” he said.
He called upon the people to vote for the symbol ‘Boat’ in next general elections to bring Awami League (AL) to power again for continuation of massive development activities in building a middle income nation by 2021 and a developed country by 2041.
