A Dhaka court yesterday sent to jail BNP leader Joynal Abedin Faruk in four cases lodged over allegedly carrying out subversive activities in 2015, reports BSS.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Nur Nahar Yasmin passed the order after rejecting Faruk's plea for bail in four cases.
“Faruk surrendered before the court and pleaded for bail in total of six cases lodged with capital’s Paltan Police Station. The court accepted his plea in two cases, while rejecting bail pleas in the other four,” Faruk's lawyer advocate Sanaullah Miah said.
Another report adds: The High Court (HC) yesterday granted interim bail to BNP leader Barkatullah Bulu in seven cases lodged for allegedly committing subversive activities. A High Court division bench comprising Justice Md Miftah Uddin Choudhury And Justice ANM Bashir Ullah passed the order as Bulu's counsel Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon and Barrister Sakib Mahbub pleaded for bail for their client.
