The five lawyers Nur-e-Alam Uzzal, Lizen Patwari, Mahmud, Motilal Bepari and Mohammad Ali appeared before the High Court division bench comprising Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice Khizir Ahmed Choudhury following an order of the court. The court at the time exempted Uzzal and Lizen from personal appearance during the next hearings and ordered all the accused to submit their explanations in writing over the incident that took place on July 10.
On June 19, the accused allegedly assaulted Bench Officer Rafikul Islam over the hearing of their cases at the court. Earlier, the court had ordered the lawyers to appear before it yesterday and issued a contempt of court ruling against them.
