Two held with 22,000 yaba tablets
Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Sunday night arrested alleged two drug peddlers along with 22,000 pieces of contraband yaba tablets from Jatrabari area in the capital. Talking to The Inde-pendent, Deputy Commi-ssioner of DMP(Media) Muntasirul Islam said, the arrested were identified as Shah Apple Islam and Shahadat Hossain. Getting secrete information, a team of DB led by Senior Assistant Commissioner Md Shah Nur Alam Patowari halted a private car at Jatrabari Sunday night and after searching the car, the team seized 22,000 pieces of yaba tablets from their possession. During the primary interrogation, the arrested drug peddlers admitted that they were involved in selling yaba tablets for long times.
