One held for threatening DNCC mayor

Members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) arrested a youth from FDC gate area in Tejgaon in the capital yesterday in connection with threatening DNCC mayor Annisul Huq, reports UNB. The arrestees was identified as SA Nahid Happy. Commanding officer of Rab-2 Lt. Col SM Masud Rana said Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Annisul Huq received a threat through his mobile phone on July 14. A General Diary was registered with Gulshan police station yesterday. Following the GD, a team of Rab-2 started investigation into the matter and arrested Happy from near FDC gate at about 4:40 pm, he said. Some 121 pieces of yaba tablets were recovered from his possession, he added.
