Dhaka district BNP and its associates bodies yesterday announced a five-day programme demanding immediate release of BNP Joint Secretary General Amanullah Aman.
District BNP President Abdul Mannan announced the programme at a press conference at the National Press Club in the city yesterday. As part of the programme, district Juba Dal will hold a protest rally on Wednesday while district Chhatra Dal and Keraniganj Thana Chhatra Dal on Friday, Secchasebok Dal on August 10, district Krishak Dal on August 12 and Keraniganj Model Thana BNP on August 16. All rallies will be held at the National Press Club.
As part of the programmes, district BNP and its different associate bodies will hold five protest rallies at the National Press Club.
Abdul Mannan demanded immediate release of Aman and withdrawal of all politically motivated cases filed against him.
Earlier on Sunday, a Dhaka court sent Aman to jail after he surrendered before the court in the cases on charges of subversive activities including arson and vandalism.Barrister Ziur Rahman Khan, Sultana Ahmed and Abdus Samad, among others, were present at the press conference.
