Safe roads demanded

Hundreds of people, including drivers and students, in Jhenidah yesterday brought out a procession demanding safe roads across the country.
Nirapad Sarak Chai and Sustainable Rural Infra-structure Improve­ment Project jointly organised the pro-gramme. Ilias Kanchan, chairman of Nirapad Sarak Chai (Nischa), cam­paign­­ing for safe roads, led the procession that paraded the main streets of the city. Later, a workshop on skill development and awareness for drivers was held at Dr K Ahammed Commu-nity Cen-tre.  Deputy Commissioner Mahbub Alam Talukdar, Superintendent of Police Altaf Hossain and others attended at the programme.
