Joya to appear in yet another new Indian film

Joya Ahsan, who has earned huge appreciation for her brilliant performance on both big and small screens in the country, is expected to once again give a stellar performance in a new Indian film titled ‘Raj Kahini’ directed by Indian filmmaker Srijit Mukherji. DhakaLive has news that the shooting of the film has already been completed recently and is expected to see its release on this October on the occasion of Durga Puja. Centered on the 1947 East Bengal and Indian separation, the film also portrays the then culture of the Indian Rajas and their female allies. Joya Ahsan plays one of central characters named Rubina. The other important cast of the film includes Rituparna Sengupta, Saswata Chatterjee,  Abir Parno Mitra, Lily Chakraborty,  Priyanka Sarkar, Sudipta, Sayoni Ghosh, Ridhima Ghosh, Ena Saha, Jishu Sengupta, Rudranil and Kaushik Sen, among others.
According to Srijit, “Basically, the film is on heroism, which has been made to showing the respect on women power. It portrays their rising and rebellion. This is one of my most influential women-centered films. The film is similar to the fight between Goddess Durga and the evil demon Mahishasura.”
The trailer of the film will be released on August 15, while the music video of the film will see its release on September.
A number of noted singers, including Rekha Bhardwaj, Ustad Rashid Khan, Kabir Suman, Shreekanto Acharya, Arijit Singh, Lagnajita Chakraborty, Rupankar, Anupam Roy, Babul Supriyo, Sidhu, Rupam Islam, Lopamudra Mitra, Srabani Sen, Anwesha and Kaushik Chakraborty  lent their voices to the songs of the film. l
