NCC Ward-4 by polls held

The by-election of Naraganj Ward No 4 was held peacefully yesterday amid   tight security. The post of Narayanganj City Corporation Ward no-4 was vacant earlier as prime accused of sensational Seven Murder Nur Hossain remained absconding. Five candidates vied in the by election. They are Amir Hossain Bhandari (trolly), Nazrul Islam (kite), Ariful Hasan (top), Abdul Aziz (bat) and AR Russel (Tiffin carrier). Total voters of the Ward are 14,106 and polling held in five centres from 8 am to 4 pm. Ariful Haq Hasan securing 3337 votes in his symbol top (Latim) won in the election race while the nearest candidate Nazrul Islam secured 2466 votes in symbol kite. District election officer also returning officer Tarifuzzaman declared the result.
