Workshop on ‘seeds of leadership’
The opening ceremony of a workshop on ‘seeds of leadership’ organised by Office of Student Affairs (OSA) was held at the seminar hall of Eastern University (EU) on Wednesday, says a press release. Abdur Rab, vice chancellor of Eastern University, inaugurated the workshop.  In his speech, he inspired the participants citing examples of renowned leaders. Md Jamal Uddin Jamy, deputy director and head, Office of Student Affairs (OSA), Mohammad Imtiaj, deputy director and head of Office of Public Relations, and other officials of Eastern University attended the session.   The workshop is designed to be a transformative personal experience to generate innovative thinking and develop leadership skills. Forty bright, courageous, and passionate students, who are keen to develop their own leadership skills and make a positive difference in the lives of others, participated in the workshop. Random presentation, pair work, problem solving sessions, focus group discussions and career panels, which are the other key components of the programme were used to facilitate the process.
Highly qualified resource persons within EU and outside are conducting the programme.


Orientation programme at UIU
The orientation programme of ‘CILT International Diploma in Logistics and Transport’ organised by Institute of Business and Economic Research (IBER) was held at United International University (UIU) in the capital recently, says a press release. M Rezwan Khan, vice-chancellor, United International University, presided over the ceremony while Karar Mahmudul Hassan, president of Charter Institute of Logistics & Transport (CILT), Bangladesh Council was the chief guest. Capt Mohiuddin Abdul Kadir, secretary, Charter Institute of Logistics & Transport, Bangladesh Council, was the special guest at the programme. Salma Karim, director, Institute of Business and Economic Research, delivered welcome speech. The speakers said this course will help in building skilled manpower in logistics, transportation sector in Bangladesh with a focus on maintaining professional standards. It will also develop management skills and demonstrate personal abilities to prospective employers.
