Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader yesterday said the Nabinagar-Paturia highway will be upgraded to four lanes from the existing two lanes.
The minister said this after inaugurating a rest house near Paturia ferry terminal in Shivalaya upazila of Manikganj.
Roads and Highways Department built the rest house ‘Padma Jamuna’ at a cost of Tk 3.45 crore near Paturia ferry terminal.
Local lawmaker A M Naimur Rahman Durjoy, secretary of Roads and Bridge Ministry MAN Siddik, chief engineer of the Roads and Highways Department Ibne Alam Hasan, superintendent of Dhaka Circle Road Division Md Subuj Uddin Khan, deputy commissioner of Manikganj Rashida Ferdouse, police superintendent Mahfuzur Rahman, Manikganj Zila Parishad administrator advocate Golam Mohiuddin executive engineer of Manikganj Road Division Mohibul Haque were present at the inaugural function. The minister also visited different points at Dhaka-Aricha highway.
