RUET clinches championship in eco-run-2015 contest

Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET) has clinched the championship award in Eco-run-2015 competition relating to innovation of fuel cost-effective automobile, reports BSS. Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and Bangladesh Honda Limited (BHL) jointly arranged the competition held in Bangabandhu Udyan (Bells Park) in Barisal city on Friday, a RUET press release here said yesterday. A total of 20 teams from 10 universities in the country took part in the competition. Two 20-member teams from Department of Mechanical Engineering of RUET joined the competition with supervision of three teachers of the department. In the contest, RUET Team One and RUET Engineers Team got the championships in four-wheeler and three-wheeler car categories respectively. Besides, the Engineers team also bagged the runner-up trophy in fuel cost-effective car category, the release added. JICA Senior Representative Hitoshi Ara gave away trophies to the winner team as chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest said JICA will continue its supports for organizing such competition in different parts of Bangladesh in order to expansion of technology-minded and practical education during the days ahead.
