New divisional commissioner joins

GM Saleh Uddin joined as the first divisional commissioner of Mymensingh, the newly created eighth division of the country, yesterday.
Earlier, GM Saleh Uddin served as an additional secretary of Forest and Environment Ministry, sources said.
He was a former student of Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) here.
At a views exchange meeting held at Mymensingh Circuit House yesterday noon the divisional commissioner said, It is very challenging to work for a new division; but I would try my best to work for the new division.
He sought cooperation from all sections so that he could run his duty well, said the commissioner.
Different professional and socio-cultural organisations, heads of educational institutions greeted the newly appointed commissioner with bouquets.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Sherpur MA Parvez Rahim, DC of Jamalpur Md Shahabuddin, DC of Netrakona Dr Tarun Kanti Sikder, mayor of Mymensingh Municipality Ekramul Haque Titu, Mymensingh Police Superintendent Moinul Haque, president of Mymensingh Nagorik Andolon advocate Anisur Rahman Khan, were present at the meeting, among others.
Deputy commissioner of Mymensingh Mustakim Billah Faruqui was in the chair.
