Audience-admired actor and freedom fighter Ahsanul Huq Minu will be seen playing a role of a razakar in a tele-drama titled ‘Shesh Chithi’, which is based on the Liberation War of Bangladesh. Directed by Shamim Zaman, DhakaLive has news that the shooting of the tele-drama has already been completed in Pubail near the capital.
Ahsanul Huq Minu is a freedom fighter in real life, who fought valiantly during the Independence War in 1971 and contributed towards the country’s freedom. He fought in Sector Number Seven under Major Kazi Nuruzzaman. He was a student at that time. However, even though in reality he fought bravely for the country, in a twist of irony, he portrays the role a razakar in the tele-drama.
The experienced actor spoke about his role, “The fact that I am a freedom fighter, I myself saw them closely that how the razakars were and what they did during the Liberation War. I took up this role, so that, I can properly portray their characteristics.”
To note, ever since the country’s independence, Ahsanul Huq Minu has involved himself with acting. Through Bogra’s Natyagoshti and Momtazuddin Ahmed’s troupe Theatre, he performed in various stage plays. On the other hand, he has already spent more than 1200 nights on the stage while playing for Bogra’s Natyadal and Dhaka Theatre.
His first drama serial was Salauddin Lavlu’s ‘Ronger Manush’. He then appeared in various films such as ‘Haathkora’ by Abdul Latif Bacchu, ‘Phooler Mala’ by Kazi Zahir. He received immense praise for his role in the film ‘Padma Nadir Majhi’. He was also seen in Goutam Ghosh’s film ‘Moner Manush’ , ‘Opekkha’ by Abu Sayeed, Giasuddin Selim’s ‘Monpura’ , Shahidul Islam Khokon’s ‘Bangla’ , Nayak Raj Razzak’s ‘Aayna Kahini’, Bappa Raj’s ‘Kartuz’, among others. The actor is currently awaiting the release of his film ‘Bhalobashar Rangdhanu’, directed by Nabil Ashraf. l
