A Bangladesh born engineer Tapon Mahamud Jony will work as an official broadcast crew in the next Olympic Games to be held in Tokyo in 2020. This will be the second successive occasions that Tapon Mahmud has got the opportunity to be in the Olympic broadcasting team. He also covered Rio Olympic Games 2016 when he looked after Modern Pentathlon and Rugby7 event.
He was one of the crucial broadcast crew of the world's greatest event. Along with other 3 broadcast crew Peter from Canada, Gleb from Russia and Viessmann from Germany. He was carrying Bangladeshi flag in the Technical Operations Centre (TOC) control room.
Their main responsibility was to maintain and monitoring event Broadcast facilities to ensure 1 billion people having a smooth viewing of the Olympiad.
He said the broadcasting team has been using the world's latest technology to deliver the best output on the screen. Hundreds of journalists and media personnel from various nations came to collect footage from the TOC team.
