Maid killed �by master�

A house maid was allegedly tortured and strangulated to death by her master at Choto-Godairchar village in Narsingdi sadar upazila on Thursday.
The deceased was identified as Farjana Akter Setu, daughter of Habi Uddin of Laukhai village in Netrokona district. She has been working as maid from about last three months at the house of school teacher Farida Parveen at Choto Godairchar.
Local people and Narsingdi police said Farida Parveen, an assistant
teacher of Madhabdi SP Institution, is an ill tempered woman and she used to torture Farjana.
Yesterday morning, Farida Parveen started beating Setu mercilessly for reason of watching TV instead of doing house work. At one stage, Setu fell dead. Farida Parveen then hanged the body from a ceiling fan to cover up the murder as suicide.
Hearing the clamour, neighbours rushed to spot and informed the matter to police.
Police later came and sent the body to Narsingdi sadar hospital morgue for autopsy. Local people detained Farida Parveen and handed over her to police.
Parents of the victim- Habi Uddin and Nur Jahan Begum-claimed that Farida strangulated their daughter to death. The doctor, who has done the autopsy, said there are several marks of injury on her body.
