‘Construction work progressing fast’

The construction of ‘Palli Janapad’ buildings is going on in full swing across the country for developing the livelihood of rural people and to ensure modern civic facilities for them, reports BSS.

“One four-storey building has been constructing in each of the country’s eight divisions in the first phase. Each building will accommodate 240 families… Palli Unnayan Academy, Bogura, is implementing the project with an estimated cost of Tk362.98 crore,” State Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) and Cooperatives Mashiur Rahman Ranga said on Thursday.

He was addressing a meeting of Rural Development and Cooperatives Division on the evaluation of ongoing development programmes.

Ranga said the project has been taken at the desire of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to prevent the misuse of farm land, ensure food security and reach modern housing facilities to the rural people.
