Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) is set to sign a joint venture contract today to establish a coal-fired power plant having 1,320 megawatt (MW) generation capacity, reports BSS
“As part of the government’s move to increase the power production, the BPDB will sign the contract at Mukti Hall of Bidyut Bhaban here with China Huadian Company for installing 1,320 MW power plant at Moheshkhali in Cox’s Bazar,” BPDB Director (public relations) Saiful Hasan Chowdhury told BSS yesterday.
He said under the agreement, a new joint venture company would be formed within 30 days, adding, “The new company would construct a 1,320 MW ultra super critical coal-fired power plant at Moheshkhali in Cox’s Bazar by 48 months.”
