Two best writers will be honoured with ‘IFIC Bank Literary Award 2016’ this year. Khasru Chowdhury’s ‘Sundarboner Bagher Pichhu Pichhu’ and Shakoor Majid’s ‘Ferauner Gram’ have been selected as the best books for the prestigious award, says a press release. A selection committee consists of veteran litterateurs and literary critics of the country have selected two best books for the award without taking any sides. Each of the writers will receive prize money worth Tk 5 lakh, a crest and a certificate. The awards will formally be handed over to the recipients through a ceremony at a convenient date soon.
To note, ‘IFIC Literary Award’ is the most luxurious (monetary value) literary award of the country. With the slogan ‘IFIC Bank—Srijanshil Sahityer Sahojatri’, IFIC Bank introduced the award in 2011 to inspire creative literature by recognising the talented writers of the contemporary time.
