Showing personal reason, lead vocalist Tanzir Tuhin has let the popular band Shironamhin. He has made the announcement through a Facebook post on Friday evening. Tuhin wrote in his status, “I am Tanzir Tuhin, I am leaving Shirnonamhin band due to my personal reason…but not music.”
DhakaLive has learnt from a source in the band, “The decision came from a meeting of the band members took place recently. Tuhin was admitted into a hospital after suffering a heart attack a few days ago. Though he returned home from hospital after recovering from illness, doctors advised him not to perform on the stage for the time being. So it’s believed that Tuhin took the decision to avoid physical risk.
On the other hand, Tuhin, in an interview with a leading daily of the country, said, “I was hurt by the attitude of my band members during my illness. When I was sick, my family members rushed with me to the hospital for my recovery, right that moment, money was more important to my band members than friendship. They didn’t want to miss a single show. How much money they need? They thought I would never get well and I cannot perform on the stage again. They replaced my position with another artiste.”
However, Tanzir Tuhin, who is an architect by profession, spent long 21 years with Shironamhin before he quitted from the band on Friday. The band was formed in 1996 and Tuhin was a second- year student at architecture department at the Bangladesh University of Engineering Technology at that time.
