Taposh to work with Bollywood music director Salim

Talented Bangladeshi musician Kaushik Hossain Taposh, who has won the National Film Award for his tune for the film ‘Purna Dairgha Prem Kahini', is going to work with eminent Indian music director-playback singer Salim Merchant. Kaushik and Salim will compose a Bollywood track together. Salim, one of the noted musicians in Bollywood, is presently carrying out the responsibility of a judge in the musical reality show ‘Indian Idol Junior’, has shown his interest through Facebook to work with Taposh after going through a few of the sample works done by Taposh. They will start working together to produce a Hindi and English version track soon. Kaushik Hossain Taposh said about the forthcoming venture with Salim, “Actually, Salim liked a few of my instrumental works, those have been played by me with my own compositions; and then, we talked about working together. I think it will be a blending of the musical experience of the two countries.”
To note, Taposh performed with famous Indian singer Pritam on the same stage earlier. Even they had planned to work together for a track, but they could not make an adequate progress on the project due to Taposh’s personal dealings and professional engagement in establishing Gaan Bangla TV. But this time, Taposh is very serious about the opportunity and is approaching with a strong will to work with Salim. Taposh is working heart and soul to promote Bangladeshi music to the international platform. He was invited to the Billboard Top Chart and Grammy Awards events as the only Bangladeshi guest last year. Salim Merchant, an Indian music director and playback singer, got his first break when Karan Johar asked Salim-Sulaiman to compose the music for his film, ‘Kaal’. His big Bollywood moment came when he along with his brother composed music for the horror flick ‘Bhoot’. After that, he has gone to do movies with well-known producers and directors like Yash Chopra, Subhash Ghai and Ram Gopal Varma. Before composing music, he has composed the background scores for movies. Currently he is seen judging singing reality show Indian Idol Junior season 2.
